Automatic Driving Lesson

Outerlimits is set up to cover the areas that get skipped by most of driving schools — the properties, small towns and localities outside the main centres!

We come to you

Lessons start and finish wherever suits you: home, school, work or the shops. You do not need to organise a lift into Gympie or Maryborough just to have a lesson. If you are on a rural address, that is normal for us and we can arrange pickup from your home.

What happens in a lesson

Your first lesson opens with a short conversation about what you have already done and what you want out of it. Once we establish your curent driving skills and comfort level, we will cover some or all of:

• Car setup — seat, mirrors, controls and the checks before you move

• Steering, braking, and smooth starts and stops

• Road positioning, mirrors and head checks

• Intersections, roundabouts and giving way

• Speed zones, overtaking and country road hazards

• Reverse parking, three-point turns and hill starts

You get straight feedback at the end of every lesson and a clear idea of what to work on with your supervisor before the next one.

Logbook hours in Queensland

Learners under 25 need 100 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night, before sitting the practical test. Lessons with an accredited instructor are recorded at triple time — one hour logs as three — capped at 10 instructor hours, which works out at 30 logbook hours.

If you are 25 or over there is no logbook requirement. Lessons are still worth taking, there is just no paperwork attached to them.

If you are nervous behind the wheel

Some learners take to it straight away. Others need longer, and that is absolutely fine. We are used to working with anxious learners, and with students who need instructions given differently or repeated.
